Why You Should Still Care About the Gospel

God cares deeply about people. You need only to turn a few pages of the Bible to see this. He hates everything that eats at and destroys mankind. Those things are a fruit of our misalignment to His goodness, and we call that “sin”.

The difference in the world after sin entered is shocking. Orphans, drugs, murder, death, abortion, incest, racism, hatred, anger, evil… the list goes on. The Bible says none of these things were here before sin. Thankfully, there is a cure because of God’s great love for us. He made a way for all the effects of sin to be removed. The cure is faith in Jesus.

Thankfully, there is a cure because of God’s great love for us.

If you knew a way to eliminate something like cancer, it would be wrong for you to hide it, and if you chose to hide it, you would be the cause of much death. How much more worse is it to hide the true love of God and the rectification for sin from those who have no idea it exists? Would God not want everyone in the world to know about this cure for sin, even if some didn’t accept it?

Have you ever thought, “Should I share the Gospel with this person? I must wait for God to tell me to preach the Gospel because I do not want to resist and disobey God by moving against His call on my life.” The truth is He already commanded us to proclaim the Gospel in Matthew 28, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you”. God “doesn’t want any to perish, but desires all people to come to repentance”. It seems impossible He is to blame for parts of the world still unreached with the Gospel.

God doesn’t want any to perish, but desires all people to come to repentance.

More than 40% of the world doesn’t know this Good News. 3.19 billion people being almost completely unreached by the gospel is a great injustice. The rate at which the Gospel is reaching the world is too slow when we think of how vital this Hope is, and we as Christians claim it is the most important truth a person could hear!

Currently, there are 4.2 million local full-time Christian workers in the reached world and .02 million local Christian workers are in the unreached world. Out of over 400,000 missionaries in the world, only 13,000 are in places of the world that don’t have the Gospel. Not a terribly small number, right? 13,000 people sounds significant. But, what if we told you,

There is 1 missionary for every 60,000 Tribal Persons,

There is 1 missionary for every 179,000 Hindus,

There is 1 missionary for every 71,000 Non-religious,

There is 1 missionary for every 405,500 Muslims, and,

There is 1 missionary for every 260,000 Buddhists.

How significant does 13,000 sound now? Statistically, you are more likely to be in a plane crash than to be one of the few missionaries to the unreached. We don’t say this to make you feel like you can’t do anything or make you feel bad about yourself. We say this because we know you can join us in being part of the solution.

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He said, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation.” He gave us one mission, a co-mission and He promised to be with us until the end of the age. He clearly means for us to proclaim the Gospel to every person.  He said He will return and make all things right again (Revelation 21:3-4) once the Gospel has been proclaimed in the whole world (Matthew 24:14),  but not before.

He clearly means for us to proclaim the Gospel to every person.

Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Here is your call to choose love consequentially. Now, you may ask, “What is wrong with staying here? There are millions who need Jesus all around me.” But God will always have way too many people who say they will stay as an excuse to do nothing. If you have any inclination you might be called to missions, you probably are. But God won’t force you. God can equip His people, but He does not make their choices for them. Should you choose to accept the call, we can guarantee God always provides for those who fear and obey Him.

God won’t force you.

Many great witnesses for God are not famous and have not been qualified, but they were willing and obedient and that is what God needed to use them greatly. D.L. Moody once said, “The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to him. By God’s help, I aim to be that man.” May you be that person, and may you be like what was said of John the Baptist: “And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.”

What is God doing right now? He is making the Muslim world come alive to the Gospel. Brazil is quickly becoming the powerhouse of missions sent to preach the Gospel. Africa is being overtaken by revival. The Bible is being translated into the last few remaining languages it does not exist it. God is performing miracles and healings. The Word of God is going to go forward with or without you, but He is waiting for you to join Him.

Are you waiting for something? Let’s go together.

? Take Action ?
